  • STARS is CMG's advanced processes simulator for modelling the flow of three-phase, multi-component fluids. It enables you to model with or without dispersed solids, through complex geological formations, including naturally or hydraulically fractured.

  • STARS, a comprehensive numerical simulation tool, can be used to model compositional, steam, geomechanical (fracturing, compaction, rock failure), dispersed component (polymers, gels, fines, emulsions, foams), and in-situ combustion processes.

  • STARS incorporates a unique discretized wellbore option which allows improved modelling of horizontal wells, while investigating the merits of the SAGD or Single Well SAGD recovery processes.

  • STARS simulates a variety of complex oilfield production and enhancement processes beyond the capabilities of conventional black oil and compositional simulators. Whether you're dealing with field scale, pilots, elements of symmetry, or laboratory scale projects, STARS will effectively model:

    • the in-situ generation and flow of emulsions and foams (including foamy oils),
    • the in-situ precipitation of waxes and asphaltenes,
    • wellbore treatment procedures to manage the injection of chemical additives, and
    • Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) processes.
